About Us
Global AI Competition & Innovation Lab
GAICIL brings frontier economic analysis of AI markets, held to the standards of peer review, to the executives, ministers and judges who decide how AI competition and innovation unfold.
Who we are
The Global AI Competition & Innovation Lab (GAICIL) is a research lab on the economics of artificial intelligence. Our work is organised around three questions: the competition of AI, the competitiveness of AI, and the creative destruction of AI.
Competition of AI
The domestic angle treats artificial intelligence as a question of American market structure, not only of foreign industrial policy.
Competitiveness of AI
The global angle treats artificial intelligence as a traded system, not a domestic market with a foreign footnote.
Creative Destruction of AI
The regulatory angle treats artificial intelligence as a problem of institutional design, not of prohibition.
